    Excellent reporting is crucial

How hi-chart's Reporting Studio can support you

In today's business world, well-founded, data-driven decisions are essential. Whether in management or in operational departments - precise analyses and clear reports form the basis for success.

However, with the growing amount of data, it is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain an overview.

A report or dashboard can always be described as successful if the messages can be read quickly and without errors.

Companies are therefore increasingly relying on professional planning and analysis tools such as the hi-chart Reporting Studio to overcome this challenge.

    Reporting Studio - the concept

Consistency: The common language in reporting

Without a uniform logic, your reports speak different languages. If every employee creates their dashboards and reports in their own style, clear communication is lost. The hi-chart Reporting Studio ensures a uniform visual language that is immediately understood by all recipients. Our solution allows you to create consistent, IBCS-compliant reports that minimize room for interpretation and create clarity.

Clarity through concise titles and meaningful messages

A professional report page begins with a concise message that summarizes the key findings and recommendations. In addition, each page is characterized by a multi-line title that precisely identifies the content of the page. With hi-chart Reporting Studio, these titles are automatically generated from the data used and can be customized as needed. This allows you to see at a glance what content the page shows.

    Choosing the right visualization

The hi-chart Reporting Studio analyses your data for its business significance and automatically suggests the best visualization options. Whether time series, structures or hierarchical information - our tool selects the right visualization for your data and also offers you an extensive library of useful chart types. This ensures that your reports are not only appealing, but above all informative and easy to understand.

Consistent visual language for clear communication

A report is only effective if its visual elements are consistent and clear. The integrated notation concept ensures that all graphics and tables are always created according to the same rules. Actual data, for example, always looks the same. Plan, forecast and previous year values also each have their own characteristic appearance, so that the recipient can grasp these important differences at a glance.

    Clear presentation of deviations

Deviations and comparisons are central elements in many reports. In hi-chart Reporting Studio, deviations can be easily added to a chart and are calculated automatically. Absolute and percentage deviations are also displayed according to the notation concept so that you can distinguish the "good" from the "bad" deviations. Use our comprehensive deviation chart types to communicate your data optimally and enable quick decisions.

    Meaningful colors

Of all graphical tools, colors are the one that is most quickly understood by the recipient. Because colors are so important, they must be used carefully.

In reporting, colors are therefore not just a stylistic element, but an important means of communication. In hi-chart Reporting Studio, colors are used specifically to differentiate between "good" (green) and "bad" (red) deviations. The tool automatically takes over the business interpretation and ensures that the color coding conveys the right messages. Individual color highlighting is also easily possible to emphasize important data points even more.

    Uniform scaling for precise comparisons

Uniform scaling is crucial in order to display comparisons correctly. If a chart is not used as decoration, its only purpose is to display numerical values as geometric quantities. This means that comparisons can be made visually even before the reader is able to read the numbers in the label. Incorrect scaling automatically leads to misunderstandings because the visual comparison of sizes is no longer possible.

The hi-chart Reporting Studio ensures that all charts with the same units are displayed within a page with an identical scaling factor. This avoids misinterpretation and provides the recipient with a quick, clear and precise understanding of the data. Different scalings can be highlighted with special scaling bands.

Optimum readability and presentation with high information density

Reports often have to show a lot of information in a limited space. The Reporting Studio object size concept ensures that all elements - from diagrams and tables to comments - are always in the right proportion to each other. Even with a high density of information, your presentation remains clear and easy to read.

    Highlighting important findings

Good reporting tells the story behind the figures. With hi-chart, you can use targeted highlighting to draw the reader's attention to the key points. Difference indicators, threshold markers and other highlights can be easily applied using drag & drop, so that your reports are not only informative but also easy to understand.

Comments as the key to comprehensibility

Comments are the little siblings of the message. They play a crucial role in explaining anomalies in the data. The hi-chart Reporting Studio makes it easy for you to place comments directly in the relevant places.
Because there is usually too little space for commentary texts in the charts themselves, only numbered commentary links are displayed there and the text is placed outside. This ensures that your reports also report something by not only showing data, but also providing the necessary explanations.

Flexibility in the provision of reports

Depending on requirements, reports need to be provided in different formats - whether as PowerPoint presentations, PDF online reports or dashboards. The hi-chart Reporting Studio offers you maximum flexibility and ensures that your reports are presented professionally and pixel-perfect in any format.

With the hi-chart Reporting Studio, you not only offer precise and clear company reports, but also set new standards in the visualization and communication of data.

Let your reports speak for themselves - consistently, clearly and professionally.

The Reporting Studio object size concept

    The simple and convincing solution

The Reporting Studio object size concept makes it possible to set all sizes of graphic elements - including fonts - in a consistent size ratio.

This used to involve a lot of effort, but now it has been solved simply and convincingly.

    PG-Icon-round_idea

    APPLICATION IS SIMPLE

The concept increases the readability and usefulness of business graphics and reduces the effort involved in reporting. When inserting a diagram, the optimum font size is automatically determined so that the diagram fits perfectly into the available space. All illustrations always have the same "look", regardless of whether they are thumbnails or enlarged detail sections. Changes to the font size automatically adjust all proportions.

    THE IDEA

The concept uses the font size as a reference point for all dimensions of the graphics. If the standard font size is 10pt, all important dimensions on a report page can be expressed as multiples of this 10pt. The new unit of measurement is called "fs" for "font size".

    MORE CLARITY IN ALL AREAS

This concept creates more clarity in the creation, use and presentation of business graphics. Managers and decision-makers can grasp the information more quickly and without misunderstandings.

    ALWAYS COHERENT

Example: In a chart, the column width for months is 3.0fs and the distance between the column labels is 0.3fs. This ensures that all elements are in a sensible relationship to each other and remain consistent, even if the chart is enlarged or reduced in size. This principle also applies to tables and the entire layout of report pages.
